Our team provides support for customer operations to ensure continuity for production.<br><br><b>Take ownership for project management</b><br><br>The Subsea Controls Technician will be responsible for providing manufacture/rebuild, assembly, and testing a range of subsea controls equipment related for major offshore Oil & Gas drilling and production projects. These activities include hydraulic systems tubing, hydraulic manifold assembly, wiring DCV's and SEMs, flushing and testing equipment in accordance with procedures and documentation, interpreting and producing practical and cost effective execution of the work scopes. The role will include interfacing directly with the local services organisation, the customer base and working with the field service group. The Subsea Controls Technician - Services will report to the Australian Services Workshop Manager based at Baker Hughes state-of-the-art, Jandakot facility, Perth, Western Australia.<br><br>The principal roles and responsibilities of this position include the following, with other ancillary duties assigned as required at a level commensurate with the individual's experience.<br><br><ul><li>Being compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and quality requirements.<br></li><li>Ensuring that equipment is assembled and tested in accordance with current EHS legislation, industry standards and design codes.<br></li><li>Proactively participating in EHS standards including Concern Reports, STOP, job safety assessments (JSA) and risk assessments.<br></li><li>Providing technical support for assembly/refurbishment activities and installation/retrieval operations during business and non-business hours, including on-call duties during weekends/holidays.<br></li><li>Working with Baker Hughes regional service teams and centers of excellence to ensure global compliance<br></li><li>Ensuring equipment is assembled / built in compliance with Baker Hughes specifications and documentation.<br></li><li>Assembling subsea equipment, tube hydraulic control equipment LP & MP systems.<br></li><li>Performing and ensuring safe proof pressure testing, leak test & flush systems, to AS.4059 requirements.<br></li><li>Wiring up SCM's and test equipment (24VDC systems).<br></li><li>Fault finding control systems that operate using PLC control of DCV's.<br></li><li>Ensuring safety at all times during work execution, high pressure gas testing.<br></li></ul><br><br><b>Fuel your passion</b><br><br>To be successful in this role you will:<br> <br><ul><li>Have trade certificate with 10+ years of experience hydraulic fitter or instrument technician within the subsea industry (preferred), related service organisation or military background (Helicopters, Jets, Submarines),<br></li><li>Have high pressure tube fitting proficiency, Autoclave, JIC, etc.<br></li><li>Have Knowledge of environmental, health and safety, and quality regulations within the oil and gas industry.<br></li><li>Be service minded and good understanding of risk analysis and hazard mitigation.<br></li><li>Be proactive and results oriented, self-motivated and ability to work independently and in a team.<br></li><li>Have good analytical skills combined with proven problem solving skills.<br></li><li>Be highly organised and methodical in executing work scopes.<br></li><li>Be flexible to travel to remote locations for periods of time in field environment (5-28 days) if required (mostly workshop based).<br></li><li>Have good communication skills, with an ability to communicate well in a multi-lingual/multi-cultural team environment.<br></li><li>Have good English language skills, both verbal and written.<br></li><li>Be able to cooperate in multi-disciplinary work groups.<br></li><li>Have sound knowledge of computer software, such as MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel is preferred.<br></li></ul><br><br>The following are desired/advantageous:<br><ul><li>Some oil and gas industry knowledge including either subsea hardware including SEMs, SCMS, Stab plates, EFLs, SDU's is preferred<br></li><li>Have experience with servo hydraulic systems is preferred<br></li><li>Have experience leading work teams is preferred<br></li><li>Have knowledge of PLC systems and control systems (DCS, PLC) is preferred.<br></li></ul><br><br><b>Work in a way that works for you</b><br><br>Our people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
