As the Cloud Solution Architect, your primary focus is aimed at accelerating larger strategic business with our VMware Cloud Provider partners. Collaborating with the entire partner ecosystem is critical for our customers to accelerate Enterprise Cloud Transformation. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? You will be expected to be a trusted partner for our customers and partners. Within three months, you will be competent with VMware’s multi-cloud strategy, products, and services offerings. Training and support will be delivered via self-learning online and peer support in the team. You will work closely with VMware colleagues in Sales, Solution Architects, and Professional Services to establish a working model to support VMware Cloud Provider partners. Within six months, you will deliver deep-dive technical discussions with our partners and participate in business review meetings. Also, you will be providing VMware’s Business Unit with real-time feedback from our partners to help drive an accurate roadmap based on customers’ needs and objectives. Within 12 months, you will have a strong relationship with our partners and strong networks of incredible colleagues in our regional and global organizations to drive desired business outcomes for our customers. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments: Work closely with VMware Cloud Provider partners in Japan including hyperscale partners. With your strong cloud knowledge and business acumen to understand customers/partners’ business outcomes and solution requirements. Leverage your prior experience in customer management to build long-term and trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners. Provide technical architectural guidance based on VMware’s best practices and drive the adoption of VMware’s products and services and technologies into Cloud Providers’ offerings. Participate in regional marketing, industry, and community-based events to promote VMware’s cloud strategy. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? This position reports to the regional Director of the Cloud Solution Architecture based in Tokyo who joined VMware in 2010. The team consists of highly competent senior cloud solution architects. As a part of the global cloud solution architect team, we work closely with our colleagues across the globe, especially in APJ. The team culture is based on building trust, ongoing development through coaching, and giving back to the community through service learnings. Where is this role located? Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
