<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>Charity People is delighted to be partnering with a leading domestic abuse charity in their search for a temporary Senior Press Officer whilst they recruit for the role on a permanent basis, so this role could be extended. Refuge is the country's largest single provider of specialist domestic and gender-based abuse, and places survivors at the heard of their work. This is an exciting time to join the charity's small but high performing press team. You'll lead thematic areas of work and help drive forward the organisations press strategy to help secure a range of coverage across print and broadcast media.<br /><br />The role is to run for two months initially, and it is being paid on a hourly basis. The role is a 37.5 hour working week. The pay is £17.29 PAYE plus £2.09 holiday pay per hour. Interviews will be held w/c 6th and 13th, with the view of starting asap following the job offer. <br /><br />The charity is looking for an experienced Senior Press Officer with excellent writing skills, news judgement and story-telling aptitude. Overseeing a busy press office function, this post will respond to reactive requests, whilst developing and rolling out a proactive programme of work across national and regional media. A key role in a small but high functioning team, this role will help shape and deliver Refuge's media strategy and lead on thematic work areas.<br /><br />The successful candidate should have excellent relationships with a range of journalists and enjoy pitching stories and creating press opportunities. You'll be a strategic thinker, creative and organised, and be an avid consumer of news.
