<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking <b>a Roadway Testing Technician (RTT)</b> to support various projects in the Savannah area.<br />
<br />
Under general supervision, the RTT will perform routine to complex testing of materials used in transportation construction projects according to established testing procedures. This includes; receiving, recording, and preparing all samples for testing, and calculating and recording all test results; reviewing and analyzing results to determine if the samples meet the governing specifications; reporting results, findings and conclusions; and operating, maintaining and assisting in calibrating all equipment used in testing.<br />

<b>Key Responsibilities </b></p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Provide acceptance testing on soils, aggregate, asphaltic concrete, and concrete</li>
<li>Sample soil, aggregate, asphaltic concrete and concrete materials on projects as approved by the testing management supervisor for testing</li>
<li>Observe roadway for problems indicative of materials or procedure deficiencies on assigned project</li>
<li>Prepare reports and document all activities pertaining to sampling or testing for department project</li>
<li>Coordinate testing and sampling with project personnel to ensure department specifications are met and optimum construction results are achieved</li>
<li>Maintain thorough knowledge of testing procedures</li>
<li>Maintain equipment according to Department Guidelines</li>
<li>Perform density testing of soils</li>
<li>Sample and test concrete in the field and lab</li>
<li>Perform concrete reinforcing steel inspections</li>
<li>Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data</li>
<li>Provide daily reports of observation and test results</li>
<li>Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications</li>
<li>Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites</li>
<li>Will travel within and around Savannah (within 2 hours of the city)</li>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b></p>

<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED.</li>
<li>One (1) year transportation experience or equivalent combination of training and materials testing related experience is desired.</li>
<li>Some knowledge of surveying, highway construction or design.</li>
<li>Certifications include a combination of GDOT RTT, ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, ICC masonry, NPDES Level 1A or 1B</li>
<li>Valid Driver&
39;s License required</li>
<li>Reliability - must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times</li>
<li>Ability to prepare reports and documentation</li>
<li>Ability to travel and work overtime as needed</li>
<li>Ability to work in variable outside conditions</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company&
39;s driving (MVR) policy</li>
<li>General knowledge of mathematical functions, including averages and percentages.</li>
<li>General computer skills, including data entry and use of modems.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret such things as construction plans and manuals.</li>
<li>Good communications skills.</li>
