<p><b>About the team</b></p>
<p>This role sits within the University’s Transformation team, reporting to the Director of Transformation within the well-regarded Strategy, Planning & Analytics Directorate (SPA). </p>
<p>The Transformation team supports the senior leadership of the university in effective strategy execution and driving sustainable improvements to our core business. The team is also called on to support King’s to address major risks and issues, especially where these are cross-organisational in nature.</p>
<p>The role will also have a functional dotted line into the SRO for the programme. The purpose of the programme is to review the operating model of the Technicians Service function for the university, scope, design and deliver an enhanced way of working which enables more effective ways of working and a better staff and user experience. This is a whole system end to end programme which requires a high level of skill, insight and experience. </p>
<p><b>About the role</b></p>
<p>The postholder will deliver a whole system change which will focus on reviewing, enhancing and developing the service offer and wider operating model design of the Technicians Services Department. This will involve collaborative working with the programme board, in scope faculties, student groups and key senior stakeholders. </p>
<p>This programme is at the scoping stage and presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Op Model professional to deliver an end-to-end change programme from scoping to delivery.</p>
<p>The postholder will be expected to lead the programme and display the ability to work autonomously and own the delivery of an exceptional outcome. The programme will be complex, ambiguous and of high-value, with relatively limited direction and institution-wide implications. This role requires expertise in Programme Management, Change Management, Org Design/Op Model Design and Continuous improvement. Support will be provided from the Transformation Team CI and Change experts, but the post holder will be expected to diagnose and design the whole system change and bring in the experts when required. </p>
<p>The key deliverables expected of the first phase (12 months) will be to:</p>
<p>•      Design a business case which will scope the end-to-end programme and TOM design including the discovery/pilot phase</p>
<p>•      Design the programme structure and governance required to deliver  </p>
<p>•       Design and deliver a discovery/pilot to test the change in at least one technical services location </p>
<p>•       Conduct and present a retrospective/summary of pilot findings to inform the next stage of the programme and the TOM design. </p>
<p>This is a full time Fixed Term Contract for 1 year.</p>
