Salary: 1475 KWD<br />
Housing Allowance : 300 KWD OR Housing<br />

<strong>Candidates are required to have the following:</strong><br />
Curriculum Background: UK preference<br />
Minimum Experience: 5 year preference<br />
Qualifications: Bachelor in Elementary Education + Leadership qualification and experience in a similar position.<br />
<br />
<strong>Job purpose:</strong><br />
The Headteacher will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day and strategic management of the curriculum, personnel and resources. The Headteacher will promote the core values and vision of the school within the Primary department, and seek to ensure that they are implemented.</p>
<p><strong>The Headteacher will:</strong><br />
• determine and communicate the Primary Department’s agreed aims and objectives, following consultation with the Principal, staff, parents and pupils;<br />
• devise and implement a curriculum which fosters the academic, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development of every child and meets their diverse needs;<br />
• develop monitoring and evaluation systems to assess teaching and learning standards, and implement any necessary improvement strategies;<br />
• recognise and promote the school's accountability to the Principal, parents and the company for the quality of education it provides;<br />
• manage personnel and resources, delegating responsibility where appropriate;<br />
• lead and motivate staff and pupils through a cohesive staff-development policy;<br />
• create effective teams;<br />
• manage and communicate the development of an agreed School Improvement Plan based on clear evidence;<br />
• develop positive links with all stakeholders, through consistent and clear communication.<br />
• When appropriate meet with and foster good relationships with parents and stakeholders.<br />
• Promote and maintain positive links across the departments to ensure consistency and progression.<br />
• Report to the Principal on quality of teaching &amp; learning, student outcomes, absence, behaviour and staffing issues.<br />
• Ensure the Primary department is fully compliant with the British Schools Overseas standards.<br />
• Ensure the Primary department is compliant with both local and British Health &amp; Safety laws.<br />
• Oversee smooth timetabling of the Primary department incorporating specialist lessons and Arabic and Islamic departments.<br />
• In coordination with Year Leaders, Assistant Heads and the Registration office, formulate appropriate and balanced class lists each year based on roll predictions provided by head office.</p>
