Project Manager

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a full time Project Manager to support our Consulting business in Calgary, AB. This is an office-based role, and the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail oriented, strong communication skills, and practiced organizational skills with extensive experience in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industries. <br><br>The <b>Project Manager</b> is responsible and accountable for leading the engineering design projects to be delivered on time and on budget. This role will also focus on R&D activities including the design of new products to release to market. <br><br>This is an exciting time to be joining Wood as the Products business is looking to double their revenue by 2025. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic and growing team who uses their technical expertise to solve some of the world's toughest vibration issues. <br><br>The primary responsibilities of the role include: <br><br><ul><li> Technical leadership and development - Effectively lead a team and give technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities and ensure on-time project delivery. Provides direction to the team with a focus on safety, on time delivery, quality, and risk identification and mitigation. </li><li> Knowledge sharing for innovation and technology - Promote technical excellence within the team and support groups through design / technical review participation, lessons learned awareness, and technical innovation / growth fostering. </li><li> Provides project management (in terms of managing project costs, project scheduling in Wood Planning and in supplying pertinent communication) for engineering projects when necessary. </li><li> Accurate scope definition, project cost estimates and schedule generation and management, timely Project Closeout and lessons learned review. </li><li> Change management - Coordinate and drive continuous improvement activities and quality projects. Utilize change management to implement and improve relevant processes, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness across the engineering team. </li><li> Risk management - Consult within the engineering team and with management to determine project </li><li> Customer focus - Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal stakeholders to ensure that the customer requirements are understood and being achieved. </li><li> Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies in the Industry, including specialties within their specific Team area. </li><li> Conduct development research including patent investigation; generating product requirements; determining specifications, development to production timetables, and development cost and component pricing. </li><li> Development and patent new/innovative product technology to anticipate gaps in the market and maintain competitive advantage in the energy industry. </li><li> Participate and lead product development including prototyping, manufacturing, verification, validation, and associated metrics. </li><li> Work with the engineering team to translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. </li><li> Write safety procedure prior to in-house testing. </li><li> Assist with marketing communications from a technical perspective when pushing new products to market. </li><li> Quantify product performance through in-house testing and presentation of data with engineering team lead and products manager on a monthly basis. </li><li> Run the testing laboratory. This includes maintaining test equipment, sourcing and procuring new test equipment and consumables, managing lab budget. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience </li><li> Professional Engineering License highly desirable. </li><li> Strong background in vibration theory. </li><li> Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written communication skills. </li><li> Previous work experience should demonstrate
