THE OPPORTUNITY The Janssen Medical Affairs team are passionate about innovation, quality and patient personalisation. In this newly created role the Manager, Medical Communications will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the medical communications team to deliver a Best-in-Class Omnichannel review and approval system and ensure agile and rapid compliant solutions for creation and approval of content.. The Manager, Medical Communications, will also be responsible for developing innovative frameworks, new ways of working, delivery of strategic insights and exemplary customer service for the Medical Information function. You will develop strong internal networks with all functions of the business to ensure an exemplary level of customer service through maximising opportunities to meet the needs of the customer, for example, by engaging the customer facing teams (MSLs, Medical Advisors, Sales, Customer Service) and head office teams as and when relevant. Reporting into the Medical Affairs Director, Medical Excellence you will ensure robust frameworks are in place so that promotional and educational material and activities supported or sponsored by Janssen in Australia and New Zealand are produced and conducted in accordance with local regulatory requirements, Company SOPs, J&J HCBI requirements (through HCC review & approval), and relevant Industry Codes. RESPONSIBILITIES Shape and elevate Janssen’s Medical Communications teams ways of working to ensure maximum efficiencies and impact for both internal and external stakeholders Maximise delivery of insights to the business Work with region and global teams on Medical Information and Code Review Initiatives Possess a high level of working knowledge of the Medicines Australia and Medicines New Zealand Codes of Conduct, especially in regard to review and approval of promotional material and be able to impart this knowledge to the team and stakeholders to facilitate understanding and compliance, whilst remaining a business enabler Lead the preparation of Code complaints against competitor activities, or the defence of complaints made by competitors or others against Janssen Interact closely with relevant stakeholders including marketing, legal and Heath Care Compliance (HCC) Manage the medical communications team members and set periodically review objectives and provide ongoing feedback on performance; develop, support and periodically review career development plans Qualifications IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualification in business, science, medicine, pharmacy, life science or pharmaceutical degree Relevant experience in Medical Affairs, including Medical Information, Drug Safety, Clinical Trials, and/or regulatory affairs. Solid stakeholder management skills and achieving business deliverables Strong people management experience and preferably within a medical function with a proven record of success Proven experience in project management, change management and internal & external communications In-depth understanding of Australian and New Zealand codes of conduct Previous experience in working in a cross functional team environment and managing successful stakeholder interactions Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus presentation skills to internal & external stakeholders COMPANY CULTURE You will be rewarded through a competitive remuneration package along with continuous training, support and award-winning leadership development programs.
