Binder Laboratory Technician - Will Train

This individual will receive and test asphalt binder samples following a variety of standard procedures. Will work under the guidance of experienced staff and be trained. We offer a variety of testing procedures on various samples from across the US. Our ideal candidate is seeking challenging work and is committed to quality. <br><br><b> Key Responsibilities </b><br><ul><li> Conduct tests and investigations in the laboratory and/or field to obtain data for use by engineering and technical personnel in determining physical properties of bituminous materials </li><li> Perform laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures, processes and standards </li><li> Use specialized equipment including computer automated equipment to prepare analyses, reports, and / or technical drawings </li><li> Clean working areas in the laboratory </li><li> Enter data and use spreadsheet to communicate results </li><li> Confers with senior staff on test results </li><li> Set up, maintain and calibrate equipment </li><li> Will use basic mathematical equations to calculate test results </li><li> Requires some lifting and carrying </li><li> Work around hot bituminous materials </li><li> Work in a safe manner according to company policies, procedures, and laboratory practices </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree not needed </li><li> Ability to use laboratory test equipment in an effective and safe manner </li><li> Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders </li><li> Ability to prepare reports and documentation </li><li> Attention to detail </li><li> Ability to follow directions </li><li> General math skills required </li><li> May require the ability to lift and carry bituminous and other samples up to 50 pounds </li><li> Ability to work independently </li><li> Must pass drug test, physical, background check. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
