Lead Surgery Support Specialist

Overview INTERNAL DEPT. PREFFERED POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Surgery Support Specialist is responsible for leading & overseeing activities of Surgery Support Specialists and Anesthesia Support Specialists. They will do this by providing a safe environment within a facility achieved by a reduction of microorganisms, for the benefit of patients, visitors, and employees. While executing the assigned tasks, the Lead Surgery Support Specialist will have contact with patients and their family/loved ones. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety related aspects and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. The lead will also coordinate staffing in both operating room (OR) locations in order to help with overall OR flow and turnover rates. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Licenses/Certifications: CPR - OSF only accepts certification from the American Heart Association CERTIFICATION MAY BE OBTAINED DURING OSF ORIENTATION Experience: At least 1 year of working in a healthcare setting Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to be detail oriented PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year of Surgery Support or Anesthesia Support Lead or Environmental Services Completion of a medical terminology class EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled Job seekers will be afforded equal opportunity regardless of their race, ethnicity, veteran status or disability status.
