<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood currently has an opportunity for a <b>Buyer.</b> Reporting to the Project Services Manager, this position is located in our Trail, BC office. This role has overall responsibility for providing key supply chain management support on mining projects . If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment, this is the opportunity for you. <br><br><b> Key responsibilities </b><br><ul><li> Under direction from the Project Procurement Manager and Supply Chain Lead, purchasing of equipment & materials for mining projects </li><li> Expediting & processing shipping releases </li><li> Committing purchase orders and maintaining controls to monitor supplier performance and conformance to commercial terms </li><li> Participating in lead supplier negotiations regarding commercial terms & conditions for purchase of equipment and bulk materials </li><li> Updating and maintaining procurement plans </li><li> Developing and maintaining Request for Quotations (RFQ's) and Purchase Orders (PO's) within Wood's integrated project management system </li><li> Expediting vendor data and material delivery </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> 5-7 years purchasing experience in a heavy industrial environment </li><li> Technical diploma or engineering degree in a relevant discipline is an asset </li><li> Advanced computer skills and experience in a data base environment </li><li> Strong organization and communication skills </li><li> Ability to work in a team environment </li><li> Construction field experience is an asset </li><li> Convero, or comparable ERP experience, is an asset </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
