Position Description:  
SCHEELS is currently seeking an experienced  PART TIME Service Shop Technician/Mechanic  for our Coralville, Iowa location. While committing to a professional, team environment; this associate will provide assistance to fellow associates and customers in repair and maintenance of various products, while providing world class customer service. We are looking to find a candidate that could work a varied schedule(Days, Nights and Weekends), is mechanically inclined, and enjoys working on exercise machines. 
 
Responsibilities:

<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Ability to learn how to repair all sporting good items that we provide. Bikes, Exercise Equipment, Ski's, Snowboards, etc.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Do in-home repairs for customers on their Exercise equipment.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Provide world class customer service by smiling, greeting and assisting all customers. Be friendly and courteous when assisting customers</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas</li>

Requirements:

<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Previous Bike Shop or Exercise Machine repair experience</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and associates of Scheels.</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels policies and procedures</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">With or without accommodations, be able to sit, and/or stand, for extended periods of time. Extensive use of hands, arms and legs for lifting and transporting product and freight</li>

<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Must be at least the age of eighteen and have an approved driving record, and valid Drivers License</li>
<li style="margin:0px;padding:0px;border:0px;">Able to lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more</li>
</ul>
 
Education and Experience:  
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), Minimum of  two years related experience or training in the following areas.  Bike Building/Bike Mechanic  and/or Exercise Machine repair.  
 
Salary: Starting pay is $15.00/hour 
 
Schedule:  
Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9am and 9pm, Monday through Saturday, 10am and 6pm, Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours; days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Average hours is approximately 20 per week.  All associates must be able to work a minimum of every other weekend(Both Saturday and Sunday).
