Wells Civils Manager

Role Synopsis:   <br> The Wells Civils Manager reports to the Wells VP, implementing the Wells Department's civils strategy and operations, to include the development and delivery of all well pad and associated projects. <br> The Wells Civils Manager will be responsible for all aspects of civils contract management, including development of tender packages, leading technical bid evaluation, implementation of safe and efficient transition between contracts and management of contractors to deliver necessary works scopes within approved budgets.<br> The Wells Civils Manager will be responsible for interfacing with the Finance team to ensure spend is managed within available contract value.<br> Furthermore, the Wells Civils Manager will be responsible for leading the Wells Civils Team in work planning and delivery, and in developing a process of continuous improvement that increases cost efficiency and reduces business and safety risk. <br> The Wells Civils Manager will interface with the Projects Team, well delivery teams and rig contractors to provide leadership and discipline expertise as and when required.<br> <br> Key Accountabilities:    <br> •    Reporting to the Wells VP.<br> •    Working with the Wells Team to develop budget and implementation plans.<br> •    Working with other departments to accept clarify and develop Project Initiation Documents.<br> •    Identifying contract requirements to deliver cost effective, high quality construction/remediation activities.<br> •    Liaising with and instructing local national consultants.<br> •    Liaising with and instructing local national contractors.<br> •    Developing and implementing works projects and programmes for well pad building and remediation projects, and implementation of continuous improvement, based on lessons learned.<br> •    Providing technical advice and support to both the national wells civils team and contractors.<br> •    Technical Evaluation: Leading bidding and tendering process for Well's civils works.<br> •    Quality Management, develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Quality Systems - Integrating quality principles into a delivery strategy for performance management.<br> •    To promote the nationalisation agenda and the mentoring of our Local Team so they can transition to Leadership of the future.<br> <br> Criteria & Qualifications  <br> Essential:<br> •    Degree qualified in the respective field of construction (building) management.<br> •    Chartered Surveyor, from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building).<br> •    Minimum of 15 years' experience working within the Construction Industry.<br> •    Worked in the UK and Middle East and should be comfortable with rotational role.<br> •    Proficient in measurement and preparing bills of quantities and pricing schedules.<br> •    Preparation of estimates from concept through to detailed design and cost plans. <br> •    Able to prepare Scope of Requirements and Scope of Works/Schedules of Work documentation.<br> •    Be able to undertake building surveys and complete defect analysis.<br> •    Solid knowledge of construction technology and best practices etc.<br> •    Experience of working in procurement, preparing tender documents, issuing to bidders, and undertaking both technical and commercial evaluations and compiling tender recommendations for award. <br> •    Firm understanding of construction law, specifically construction contracts, their respective clauses and able to formulate and prepare contracts for execution and dealing with contractors claims. <br> •    Managing onsite construction works, ensuring contractors are on schedule and completing the works to the required specification. <br> •    Processing interim payment applications in line with the value of work done.<br> •    Preparing monthly commercial and financial reports for the business.<br> •    Processing Variation Orders, including measuring the works, pricing, and agreeing the cost and schedule impact with the Contractor.<br> •    Undertake the final account payments.     <br> •    Experience of Oil & Gas Facilities and Middle Eastern culture preferred.<br> •    The ability and confidence to enforce and maintain a high standard of health and safety legislation. <br> <br> Key skills:<br> •    The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively <br> •    Diligent and excellent attention to detail.<br> •    Good analytical skills.<br> •    Delivery focussed.<br> •    Actively promote and practice values.<br> •    Self-motivated and keen to succeed with an ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.<br> •    Excellent managerial and technical skills. <br> •    The ability to work under pressure. <br> •    The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team.<br> •    Excellent written and verbal communication<br> <br> The role requires a strong communicator with the ability to command the respect of their team and peers (Also to reciprocate that respect). <br> <br> Experience of working with established internationally recognised companies within the Middle East would be an advantage.<br><br /><br />With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil &amp; Gas, Power &amp; Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
