About the Royal Academy of Arts and our values

The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is one of the UK’s foremost arts institutions. We are best known for our programme of world-class exhibitions including David Hockney RA: A Bigger Picture, Ai Weiwei and Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse.

We are an innovative and forward-looking organisation, yet we’re also immensely proud and respectful of our more than two and a half centuries of heritage. Our mission is to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists and lead in the exhibition, creation and debate of the visual arts.

About the role

The Exhibitions Department organises the RA’s world-renowned exhibition programme. We now have a rare and exciting opportunity to welcome new talent into our friendly and dedicated Exhibitions team.

In the role of Assistant Exhibitions Manager, you will provide support to the Exhibition Manager and Senior Exhibitions Managers on all logistical and operational aspects of exhibitions programming, from inception to conclusion.
About you

We are looking to hear from those with experience in an Exhibitions team, preferably gained in a visual arts environment, who are exceptionally well organised, with finely tuned administration skills.

From a project management perspective, you will thrive supporting and on occasion managing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining razor sharp attention to detail at all times and managing your time effectively.

By the nature of the role, you will need to build strong relationships with colleagues and external organisations and individuals alike, so you will be a natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. You will be able to plan ahead, and predict and overcome obstacles, using a flexible and solutions focussed approach.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion at work and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

Why join us?

You will be joining a team who are passionate about what they do, where they work and really care about the success of the people and the organisation.
