<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />
<br />
Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer-Pipelines to be based in Dubai, UAE.<br />
<br />
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following;<br />
<br />
<b>General: </b></p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Assume responsibility for assigned Pipeline engineering work scopes</li>
<li>Overall responsibility for the scheduling and monitoring the quality of the work procedure</li>
<li>Mentor and Coach young pipeline engineers, provide advice to peers in this field</li>
<li>To carry out Pipeline discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil and gas production facilities</li>
<li>To plan, budget, organize, and control a segment of the Pipeline engineering deliverables for the project</li>
<li>To prepare Pipeline deliverables for a project in the oil and gas industry, and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client&
39;s policies and procedures</li>
<li>To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule</li>
<li>To liaise with the Client&
39;s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion</li>
<li>To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline</li>
<li>To co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up</li>
<li>To assist in the coordination of all activities related to Pipeline engineering design</li>
<li>To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required</li>
<li>To promote safe behaviour at all times</li>
</ul>

<b>Technical: </b><br />
<br />
Working within the pipeline design team on onshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC / EPCM projects.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Develop the pipeline design basis</li>
<li>Pipeline Route selection, ROW width selection, Crossing method selection, trenching / backfilling design.</li>
<li>Carry out Site visit / Survey and Data Collection</li>
<li>Perform Pipeline route selection and reconnaissance</li>
<li>Perform following pipelines design activities:
<ul>
<li>Mechanical calculations line pipes and bend material grade and wall thickness. Expansion/Anchor forces Calculations,</li>
<li>Bouyancy, Ovality/Buckling check,</li>
<li>Road/Rail Crossing, River Crossing, Fault Crossing analysis</li>
<li>Pipeline Stress Analysis Using Caesar-II/Autopipe Software</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Knowledge of Design, Materials, Construction, Fabrication, Inspection and Testing of Pipeline items</li>
<li>Prepare pipeline materials/items, coating, inspection, testing and installation specifications/DataSheets</li>
<li>Prepare pipeline material requisition, perform technical bid evaluation / analysis and vendor data review</li>
<li>Provide material take off and bill of material</li>
<li>To aware of Environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design.</li>
<li>To aware of Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, QRA and risk analysis techniques.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Excel, Mathcad, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness in Arc GIS, Autocad</li>
</ul>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b></p>

<ul>
<li>Bachelors Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering</li>
<li>Total experience of around 15 years with a Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an engineering design company as a Lead Pipeline Engineer</li>
<li>Operational support / construction and commissioning experience</li>
<li>Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred</li>
<li>Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage</li>
<li>Experience of sour service operations would be an advantage</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Pipeline engineering design and analysis</li>
<li>Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards</li>
<li>Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Pipeline engineering design</li>
</ul>
