PenFed is hiring a Vehicle Title Specialist at our Fort Buchanan Branch in Puerto Rico. The primary purpose of this position is to pick up and deliver titles, contracts, and various other credit union related documents for collateralized loans from automobile dealers, DMV, and other businesses on the island of Puerto Rico and ensure that title processing is conducted properly. Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Travels to various dealerships as required to pick up perfected titles, returned cases, and other documents. Acts as the primary liaison between local auto dealers and PenFed, ensuring that title processing and other related business is conducted properly with respect to PenFed. Incumbent will interact with members, auto dealers, government agencies to ensure successful registration of titles. Deliver titles to Department of Transportation-Obras Publicas (DTOP) for recording of PenFed’s lien. Resolves problems between PenFed and local dealers will lien placement and other common errors. Serves as primary liaison between PenFed and the Puerto Rico Department of Transportation-Obras Publicas (DTOP), appraising Collateral Control and other departments of changes in policy, issues, and situations that require additional attention. Works closely with Financial Center staff in Puerto Rico, Collateral Control and Collections to ensure that any title issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Processes outgoing mail and incoming FedEx, UPS, Air-borne Express, Certified Mail and other incoming controlled mail as needed. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. High school or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Bilingual in both Spanish and English required. Good driving record and a valid driver’s license required. 6 months related work experience, such as banking, office administration or customer service required. Effective negotiating skills and problem-solving abilities. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise staff. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call will be required.
