Electrical Helper

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for Electrician Helpers for our solar project in Chatham, Virginia. We offer outstanding benefits, good pay, and career opportunities. <br><br>Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b> <br><ul><li> Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, tape measure and conduit benders </li></ul><ul><li> Pulls wiring through conduit, or other areas assisted by helper </li><li> Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement </li><li> Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems. Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies, Maintains tools and equipment </li><li> Be able to distinguish colors </li><li> Use effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li> Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees </li><li> Be motivated and work safely and productively </li><li> Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc. </li><li> Use effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li> Be motivated and work safely and productively </li><li> Understand LOTO procedures </li></ul><br><br><b> PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </b> <br><br> May be required to lift and carry items weighing no more than 50 pounds <br><br> Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above <br><br> Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas <br><br> May be required consistently to work 12 hour shifts performing construction based labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions. <br><br> May be required, on occasion, to work up to 16 hours in a single shift. <br><br> Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework. <br><br> Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job related noises. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> POSITION OVERVIEW: </b> <br><br> Helpers (includes helpers 0 months- helper 42 months) - Preferred minimum of 6 months documented field experience in chosen craft discipline. Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation. The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience. <br><br><b> SUMMARY: </b> <br><br> Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. <br><br><b> EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: </b> <br><br> May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. <br><br><b> EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: </b> <br><br> Rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked. Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Perform a variety of duties which may change often. Perform arithmetical operations rapidly and accurately. See detail in objects or drawings as 3-dimensionsl objects.
