Senior Cost Estimator

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to strengthen our team. This is Dubai Residential position and will require trips into Iraq. <br><br><ul><li> Ensure alignment with Wood estimating guidelines </li><li> Develop and issue to relevant parties for approval / comment the Basis of Estimate for each project or proposal cost estimate to be developed </li><li> Develop and maintain project and proposal cost estimates in accordance with the Basis of Estimate, including statements of work scope, man-hour estimates, narratives, and review/comment on client documents </li><li> Participate in internal project cost estimate reviews and operations & cost reviews, coordinate comments and obtain estimate sign-off approval from relevant parties </li><li> Deliver presentations of reviewed estimates to Wood management for approval </li><li> Produce and issue updates to project / proposal cost estimates in a controlled manner </li><li> Liaise with project cost control and planning to ensure project budgets are developed to reflect the structure and content of the approved project cost estimate </li><li> Liaise with proposals, engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions, HR, finance and others functions as required, to maintain awareness of the requirements and costs of labour, plant and equipment, materials, subcontracts, offices, IT, and other provisions, to ensure these are accurately reflected in the project / proposal cost estimate </li><li> Ensure the corporate risk process is applied to project / proposal cost estimates as required </li><li> Undertake the formal filing of project and proposal estimates, the collection of project historical data and the continuous update of estimating databases and norms in a controlled manner </li><li> Assist in the training for Estimating personnel </li><li> Coordinate development and issue of project change orders / variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications </li><li> Assess and communicate cost and schedule impact of change notifications </li><li> Participate in Project Audits for the Estimating function </li><li> Provide guidance and support to subordinate project controls estimating staff as required </li><li> Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood Quality Assurance systems and processes </li><li> Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood HSE processes </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree in relevant technical or business discipline or can be substituted by suitable industry experience </li><li> Minimum 7 years experience in with at least 4 years in estimating positions </li><li> Good Working knowledge of all estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of their implementation </li><li> Knowledge of design and implementation of projects in the oil and gas industry, preferably in both onshore and offshore environment </li><li> Good Working knowledge and application of estimating principles </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
