Senior Planner

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is recruiting for a Senior Planner to join our team in Perth CBD. This role will be an initial 12-month contract and is anticipated to be an ongoing requirement, due to recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to a new and significant brownfields engineering opportunity being negotiated with a major player in the LNG industry. <br><br>Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Kazakhstan, and Sakhalin. At Wood, y ou will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognised industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities. <br><br>Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, your focus will be to provide planning services encompassing implementation, delivery and coordination of planning processes, preparation, and communication of various disciplines across all project phases within an EPCM environment. You will be committed to project execution, delivery and adopting best practices in planning and scheduling, while developing realistic solutions to planning projects and communicating the ongoing status / deviation analysis of the work in progress. <br><br>As part of this highly visible role, you will be the focal point on a key contact for Wood Operations and represent the project controls planning function in internal reviews and project status meetings with the client. In addition, you will: <br><ul><li> Ensure that project plans and schedules are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures </li><li> Support the implementation of project schedule management programmes that provide an accurate reflection of project performance at a project and programme level </li><li> Manage effective interfaces between planning and the functional areas of project management, engineering, procurement, and construction and instigate alignment to enable effective project delivery </li><li> Provide guidance and support to more junior planning personnel in the delivery of their specific responsibilities </li><li> Monitor overall project progress and achievement of major milestones and assess impact of client interface milestones on planning and share relevant milestone data with client through appropriate controls </li><li> Contribute to the schedule critical path analysis required to justify extensions of time for project change orders / variations </li><li> Produce and distribute contract/project S curves in accordance with agreed reporting calendar </li><li> Promote the principles of fairness and equity and set an example in line with Wood's stated core values and behaviours </li></ul><br> Join us in the heart of Perth's CBD at Dexus Place - 240 St Georges Terrace, free 24/7 access to an exclusive onsite gym, superb end of trip facilities, coffee machines serving on demand and plenty of spaces to get creative. In addition, you will have access to remote and flexible working options, purchased annual leave and employee discount programs. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Please note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship. </b><br><br>Ideally you have 7+ years' proven experience as a Planner working within the Oil & Gas industry. What will set you apart will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills (internal & external) and relevant experience in an EPC / EPCM / Operator environment within the Western Australian Oil & Gas sector. <br><br>In addition, you will have: <br><ul><li> Relevant degree / diploma or suitable a trade background </li><li> Proven knowledge, skills and experience in technical planning & scheduling </li><li> Ability to interpret project controls documentation and prepare planning documents in accordance with Wood and Oil & Gas industry standard practice </li><li> Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), be engaging, demonstrate resilience and open to using innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes </li><li> Exceptional client facing skills with proven experience influencing and challenging leadership and their teams towards high performance </li><li> High level proficiency and working knowledge of Primavera (P6) </li></ul><br> It takes an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds to unlock solutions to tomorrows most critical challenges.
