Production Technician

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />
<br />
Wood is currently recruiting for three Production Technicians on a permanent basis in Barrow in Furness. Please note that these roles are performed as part of a rotational basis.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
<li>To proactively ensure the continuous performance and availability of equipment and systems within the discipline, meet the standards required to achieve safety, production and environmental targets</li>
<li>To operate all subsea and topside process plant, utilities equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the Production Supervisor</li>
<li>To maintain a safe and environmentally compliant working environment</li>
<li>To conform to statutory, corporate and contractual requirements / standards</li>
<li>To contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of work performed on Production facilities</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Monitor and record plant conditions, bringing deviations or malfunctions to the attention of the Production Supervisor</li>
<li>Operating all utilities and systems remotely</li>
<li>Prepare process plant and equipment for maintenance by applying specified isolations/venting etc</li>
<li>Prior to start-up of any plant or equipment, inspect and confirm suitability to return to normal service</li>
<li>Logging and recording plant variables</li>
<li>Monitoring and adjusting chemical injection equipment</li>
<li>General utilities duties/bunkering of Chemicals, diesel, water ect, as instructed by Production Supervisor or Control Room Operator</li>
<li>Keeping records and logs of process variables and other activities as instructed</li>
<li>Maintaining an overview of the permit to work system and all activities in progress</li>
<li>Ensuring that the shift handover procedure is followed</li>
<li>Ensuring that any detection or protection system over rides or inhibits are recorded in writing in accordance with the required procedure</li>
<li>Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets</li>
<li>Performing first line maintenance / identifying and reporting faults</li>
<li>Carrying out gas tests and work-site inspections</li>
<li>Carrying out emergency duties as required by the OIM / Site Manager</li>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b></p>

<ul>
<li>Technical apprenticeship or process operators training scheme</li>
<li>OR : Technical qualification as process plant operator, ideally at HNC level, with NVQ/SVQ Level 2, plus offshore process operations experience</li>
<li>Additional training in facility Fire &amp; Gas, ESD and DCS systems</li>
<li>Appropriate NVQ / SVQ certification Level 3 (E, I, M or HC processing)</li>
<li>Formal assessment as competent to operate at least two processing systems</li>
</ul>
