Installation Engineering Manager

We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries. <br><br><b> Position Summary </b><br><br>Purpose The Installation Engineering Manager will be heading up a team for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) based engineering installation activities in support of oil&gas and renewables projects performed with Oceaneering's Offshore Projects Group (OPG). The Installation Engineering Manager will be responsible for engineering support to operations and associated projects and will interface directly with Clients on long charter programs. Typical work scopes will include but not be limited to installations, light construction, diving, well or flowline remediation/intervention and inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) work scopes. Engineering planning will be conducted from the Norway or Scotland based office with offshore support of the project onboard installation vessels in the EMEA region as required. The Installation Engineering Manager will report to Senior Manager, Engineering EMEA.<br><br><b> Duties & Responsibilities </b><br><br>Functions<br>ESSENTIAL<br>The Installation Engineering Manager will be responsible for all Installation Engineering Disciplines (Diving Operations, Subsea Installation and Tender & Study) in EMEA including, but not limited to:<ul> <li>Responsible for ensuring that engineering is completed in accordance with Oceaneering policy and process with a focus on personnel safety and safety for the environment</li> <li>Responsible for ensuring that engineering is completed in accordance with Client requirements</li> <li>Provide installation engineering supervision and quality assurance to project teams and Discipline Supervisors.</li> <li>Provide installation engineering support to other departments and to colleagues in terms of training and mentoring.</li> <li>Participate and/ or support tenders as required.</li> <li>Identify recruitment needs and cooperate with HR to ensure recruitment targets for the installation engineering group is met.</li> <li>Participate in project Design Reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Readiness Reviews and other risk and operational analysis exercises.</li> <li>Participate in mobilizations and occasional periods of offshore work, if required.</li> <li>Internal check of documents.</li> <li>Liaise with Certifying Authorities and Clients regarding our work.</li> <li>Quality assurance and/or preparation of study reports related to installation engineering.</li> <li>Quality assurance and/or preparation of tender method statements.</li> <li>Be updated and give input to the Business Management system.</li> <li>Give support or give idea to new engineering concepts.</li> <li>Be updated on new technology.</li> <li>Participate in new development projects.</li> <li>Identify needs for development with regards to qualifications.</li> <li>Participate in investigation group when incident has occurred as required.</li> </ul><br>ADDITIONAL<ul> <li>Develop strategies to achieve organization strategic goals and adapt strategies to changing conditions.</li> </ul><br>Supervisory Responsibilities<ul> <li>This position have supervisory responsibilities.</li> </ul><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><br>Qualifications<br>REQUIRED<ul> <li>Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering</li> <li>Minimum 10 years relevant experience</li> <li>Significant experience from installation work in the EMEA region.</li> <li>Solid knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards</li> <li>Strong QHSE mindset with experience from participation in project HAZIDs, HAZOPs and other risk analysis exercises.</li> <li>Excellent people management- and communication skills</li> </ul><br>DESIRED<ul> <li>Experience from offshore installation by use of divers</li> <li>Experience with conflict resolution and change management</li> </ul><br>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics<ul> <li>Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.</li> <li>Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.</li> <li>Treats others fairly and with respect.</li> <li>Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles and values, etc.</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.</li> <li>Seeks out new learning experiences.</li> <li>Identifies what needs to be done and takes action before being asked or required.</li> </ul><br><b> Closing Statement </b><br><br>Working Conditions<br>This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.<ul> <li>Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night</li> <li>Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place</li> <li>Work surface is stable (flat)</li> </ul><br>Physical Activity/Requirements<br>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
