Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.<br><br><b> Take ownership for Engineering </b><br><br>As an Australia Systems Engineering Manager, you are responsible for Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Seasoned and deep understanding of concepts, approaches and methodology used. Deep expertise on the level of a technological field.<br><br><b> Primary Duties </b><br><br><ul><li>Taking full accountability of systems engineering within led region across project lifecycle including:<br></li><li>Making early identification of opportunity pipeline alongside regional sales and commercial leadership teams.<br></li><li>Creating visible and up to date systems engineering demand profile for region (by country)<br></li><li>Creating and leading regional systems engineering hubs (client proximity, country specific) as needed by the business to enable front end, tendering and execution of systems engineering across all project phases.<br></li><li>Taking accountability to systems solution build-up including technical readiness (liaison with product and technology leadership), systems suitability (validation of systems solution against customer and project drivers), and competitiveness (liaison with commercial leadership)<br></li><li>Taking accountability of progressive systems risk management across project lifecycle.<br></li><li>Liaising with front end engineering manager for deploying of engineers into pursuits.<br></li><li>Having skills and competency management of regional systems engineering resources including performance management, up skilling and training.<br></li><li>Deploying engineering teams to meet demand set by commercial and project leadership.<br></li><li>Active participation in Long Term Deal Strategy sessions to project regional demand for systems engineering<br></li><li>Being responsible for leading Baker Hughes 'Bid to Execute' program definition between Tollgate 0 (opportunity identification - liaison with front end engineering manager) and Tollgate 17 (project close-out).<br></li><li>Ensuring the work is performed in accordance with Baker Hughes Quality Management Systems.<br></li><li>Client interfacing - Technical and management interface with clients towards building a robust systems engineering delivery brand<br></li><li>Assurance that engineering delivery feedback is sought and adequate actions recorded and closed out for continuous improvement.<br></li></ul><ul><li>Technical leadership on pursuits and projects as well as people leadership towards recruitment, resource management, competency and capability development.<br></li><li>Business Development - supporting the OFE commercial organization in identifying and pursuing opportunities and project enablement.<br></li></ul><ul><li>Assisting in preparing proposals and technical tenders as a technical peer checker and approver <br></li></ul><br><br><b> Specialist Tasks and duties (as deemed required) </b><br><br><ul><li>Developing internal systems and processes for undertaking engineering tasks leading to safe and successful delivery of jobs.<br></li><li>Seeking out and promote application of new technology to enable promotion and positioning of Baker Hughes to the market<br></li></ul><br><br><b> Fuel your passion </b><br><br>To be successful in this role you will need to:<br> <br><ul><li>Have Master's Degree or bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience<br></li><li>Have strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written<br></li><li>Have practical knowledge of all aspects of the oil and gas system production assurance and integrated production modelling capabilities.<br></li><li>Have broad knowledge of processes, methods and procedures within project and engineering management<br></li><li>Have demonstrable depth of experience in engineering and people leadership within a multi-disciplinary environment including project planning, executing, customer interfacing, and close-out.<br></li><li>Have significant Domain expertise across the following (at least one at 'expert' level): Field architecture/Flow assurance/process engineering/Subsea Production Systems/Risers, flowlines and pipelines/Control systems/Constructability and installation.<br></li><li>Be able to synthesize information, identify problems, establish facts and deduce solutions<br></li><li>Be able to travel internationally for project needs and for meetings and interfaces.<br></li></ul><br><br><b> Work in a way that works for you </b><br><br>We recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
