Senior Mechanical Designer (Darwin)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer who aspires to be part of a team, delivering strong results. This role will be based in the Darwin and will be an initial 12-month contract and anticipated to be an ongoing requirement. <br><br>Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Kazakhstan, and Sakhalin. <br><br>Reporting directly to the Piping Team Lead, you will be expected to have / be responsible for: <br><br><b>Position Specifics & Deliverables</b> <br><ul><li> Providing multiple disciplinary design support and deliverables: specifically structural, mechanical, piping. </li><li> Identify design and engineering support requirements to successfully complete the works </li><li> Self-starter with the ability to guide / train junior level designers </li><li> Familiarity of Management Of Change (MOC) procedures </li><li> Demonstrated ability to check deliverables for SMP packages. </li><li> Demonstrated capability of performing the full range of discipline design </li><li> Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills </li></ul><br><br>At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognised industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> You must be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and be able to work lawfully in Australia to be considered for this opportunity. </b> <br><br>You will be s uitably qualified with a technical engineering / drafting tertiary certification from a recognised institution OR equivalent industry experience, and have: <br><ul><li> Minimum of 10 years mechanical, piping, and structural design experience in oil and gas onshore LNG facilities and site knowledge and exposure. </li><li> Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements </li><li> Ability to problem solve effectively </li><li> Attention to detail </li><li> Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li> Competency in AutoCAD 3D CAD systems, Navisworks, and PDMS. </li></ul><br> <b>NOTE</b>: Northern Territory resident preferred.
