Estimator

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for an Estimator to form part of the Project Controls team preferably based at our Melbourne CBD office, but Brisbane candidates will be considered. Reporting to the Lead Estimator, the role will be responsible for supporting the estimating function across the business unit or within a specific contract and the provision of all aspects of estimating to Wood project delivery teams and customers. Estimates will include a diverse range of industries including onshore and offshore oil and gas, chemicals, water infrastructure and future energy. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><ul><li> Promotes the Wood stated core values of fairness, equity, diversity and inclusion </li><li> Sets an example by modelling desired health and safety behaviours </li><li> Prepares estimates using detailed first principals and high level estimating techniques in line with best estimating practice </li><li> Provides all aspects of estimating support to Wood project teams and clients ensuring that estimating systems, procedures and work practices are maintained in line with specific contract requirements </li><li> Ensures that all project cost estimates are documented and auditable and that the companies estimating norms and estimating data is maintained and issued in a controlled manner </li><li> Develops and issues to relevant parties for approval / comment the Estimate Plan and Basis of Estimate for each project or proposal cost estimate </li><li> Participates in internal and client cost estimate reviews, coordinates comments and obtains estimate sign-off approval from relevant parties </li><li> Liaises with project management, proposals, engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions to ensure estimate inputs received are at the correct level of detail and on time </li><li> Ensures the corporate risk process is applied to project / proposal cost estimates as required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> 5+ years estimating experience </li><li> Relevant degree or diploma or a trade background preferable </li><li> Experience in Oil and Gas industry preferable </li><li> Experience working across EPC and EPCM projects </li><li> Proficiency with industry standard software including Microsoft suite (especially Excel) </li><li> Experience with estimating systems </li><li> Understanding of estimate classification classes </li><li> Excellent communication skills </li></ul><br> Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role. <br><br>If you're an experienced Estimator, ready for your next challenge, then we are keen to hear from you today. <br><br>Apply now and take the next step in your career with this exciting opportunity! <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
