Job Summary Amentum is currently seeking a Tower Chief to support the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF). The Tower Chief is Primarily responsible for planning and directing daily Air Traffic Control. The Tower Chief provides overall supervision to a team of air traffic controllers, develops a duty schedule and sets work priorities. The Tower Chief is responsible for the training and certification of the air traffic control team and will ensure team members maintain a high level of proficiency. Additionally, the Tower chief will assist the Range Operations Supervisor with the direct oversight of the TACAN and Arresting Gear sections to ensure all Airfield supporting departments are working together to ensure proper support of all airfield requirements. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: • Performs as the Primary NATOPS Evaluator and Training Chief • Evaluates team members by observing their performance during the execution of their duties while controlling aircraft and airspace • Develops and maintains the training plan so all team members remain proficient in their position and retain all necessary certifications • Maintain all training records and documents and keeps an open line of communication with both the Air Traffic Control Facility Officer (ATCFO) and Airfield Manager, as required • Ensures that all current regulation manuals, charts, maps and training material are on hand and updated as needed • Ensures that facility records and recordings are properly maintained and available to the Government upon request • Verifies that equipment, furniture and facilities are maintained, and that there are adequate supplies on hand for team members • Attend meetings with Government personnel, Program Managers and visiting program personnel as required for Op planning and support. • Prepares and submits periodic reports as required • Other duties as assigned by Manager • Augments tower Controllers on position when there are not enough union personnel on hand to cover the shifts required • Maintains all Tower controller certifications and a current Class II medical certificate Minimum Requirements • High School graduate or equivalent • Must have formal military or civilian training as an Air Traffic Controller. • 6 Years of Air Traffic Control experience • Minimum 3 years of Control Tower Experience • Possess an active SECRET clearance, or be able to obtain one within 90 days of hire • Current Class II Medical certificate • Must hold a valid FAA Control Tower Operator's License Preferred Qualifications • Active Secret clearance • 3 Years of Managerial experience highly desired
