S&P Global Market Intelligence The Role: Associate Director – Credit Product Specialist Grade: 11 The Location: Sydney or Melbourne The Team: S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Product Specialist organization supports S&P Global’s objective of developing and delivering integrated data, research, and analytic solutions to our clients globally. The Impact: A Senior Credit Specialist is to drive the success of the Credit & Risk Solutions business through sales growth and client retention throughout the Pacific by leveraging deep industry experience, core product knowledge and confident communication. Reporting to the Head of the Credit Product Specialists in the region, the role will be accountable for partnering Sales in complex and strategic opportunities. The mandate is to help Sales Executives and Relationship Managers monetize and leverage S&P Global’s C&RS capabilities, by providing expert knowledge of credit assessment tools, data and analytics to serve clients in managing complex credit risk and other critical risk management areas. The role focuses on the credit risk management workflow supporting CROs, CFOs, Credit Analysts and Credit Risk Managers across a range of financial and non-financial service industries. This includes but is not limited to supporting loan origination, monitoring default risk of customers and counterparties, identifying opportunities to invest in fixed income markets, underwriting specialty insurance policies, pricing intercompany loans, raising debt capital, and furthermore, facilitating the assessment of E, S and G factors in these decisions. Strong familiarity with global and regional bank capital regulatory frameworks. This role provides great exposure to a broad range of clientele across industry segments, including global and regional regulators and policy makers. It also provides great visibility within the organization across both the commercial and product verticals. The role also provides the opportunity for publication of thought leadership pieces, which are often presented at conferences, webinars, and workshops that we participate in. Responsibilities: Develop market specific strategy and tactical initiatives across multiple client/market segments to enable revenue growth with sales. Develop and implements improvement initiatives and standardizes strategies to support scale and replication. Participate in oversees collaboration with commercial, product and other functional partners. Ensure the alignment of team efforts toward commercial strategy and Go-To-Market campaigns. Stay well connected to strategic customers in the market. Align with commercial strategy and helps team design and execute strategic pre-sales/post-sales implementation plans for new and existing clients. Integrate the promotion of S&P Global Market Intelligence thought leadership in BAU and account-based engagement. Serve as credit risk subject matter expert across functional groups – marketing, sales and product management. Collaborate internally to design and deliver training across functional teams and where required deliver client workshops. Continue to build on advanced knowledge of the industry and awareness of market trends in Australia and New Zealand including keeping abreast of the latest regulatory changes and APRA principles and RBA policy, including those that link to ESG, climate stress testing and scenario analysis etc. Build a demonstrated proficiency in all S&P Global Market Intelligence credit capabilities. Maintain a keen awareness of competitors and relative strengths. In depth knowledge of client segment workflows: Corporates, Investment Management, Commercial Banking, Investment Banking and Private Equity. Ability to design and lead complex negotiations of client workflow solutions. Focuses on more sophisticated and complex client’s engagements including partnerships. Mentor team members and liaises with senior commercial management regarding technical challenges for prospects and clients. Establish internal stakeholder relationships with sales representatives, relationship managers, product managers, marketing and commercial directors to diagnose, design and deliver workflow solutions for more complex clients. Provide input to Product teams based on market/client feedback on our various solutions to help improve and innovate our product offerings. Bring a unique dimension to a high performing team through solid credit knowledge and extend this further as you function as a critical resource. What we’re looking for: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with an MBA, advanced industry certification (CA, CFA, FRM), or technical degree is a plus. 4-7 years relevant industry experience and a proven track record in complex technical sales. Minimum of 5 years in specialization field, preferably in credit analysis, credit research or credit risk management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Public speaking skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels within an organization. Experience in a direct credit risk assessment/management, a lending role or consulting.
