Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has an excellent opportunity for an experienced <b>Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer </b>to join our Operations business in Perth or Adelaide. This is a long-term secondment opportunity with a key client. <br><br>Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Kazakhstan, and Sakhalin. <br><br>You will be the responsible for supporting the technical delivery of Instrumentation and Controls brownfield and obsolescence projects. Your responsibilities include: <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b> <br><ul><li> Technically stewarding I&C obsolescence scopes. </li><li> Finalise the obsolescence scopes and deliverables with the broader technical team and as required, engineering technical authorities. </li><li> Act within own discipline for review and approval of deliverables and apply sound engineering judgment to project decisions and queries. </li><li> Technically support the management of Engineering, Procurement and Execution contractors to safely execute deliverables of Brownfields projects on time and within budget </li><li> Participate in system and equipment HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, and other reviews. </li><li> Managing the activities of EPCM and EP contractors, vendors and OEM's to ensure agreed project deliverables and objectives are met. </li><li> Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and broader commissioning activities. </li><li> Engage with and co-ordinate Implementation Contractor as required. </li></ul><br> At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognised industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Only candidates with full work rights for the Australian location will be considered.</b> <br><br>Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with an Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering degree from a recognised institution OR have substantial industry experience and ability, and have: <br><ul><li> Extensive experience in automation, as an I nstrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer with 7+ years in the Australian O&G Brownfields sector </li><li> Detailed knowledge of automation systems (DCS, safety systems, package control systems etc) as typically applied on O&G processing facilities. </li><li> Knowledge of application and operation of electrical equipment installed in typical O&G processing facilities, including: <ul><li> electric motors, switchgear, lightning protection systems, earthing systems, transformers, motor control centres etc. </li></ul></li><li> Experience and working knowledge with Instrument Protective System requirements as part of company Functional Safety Management. </li><li> Experience with process safety engineering with past involvement in hazard operability studies, PHAs, LOPAs, etc. </li><li> Working knowledge of EEHA and functional safety systems codes and standards including AS3000, AS/NZS 61508 and 61511. </li><li> Experience in development of technical specifications and strategies. </li><li> Experience in Document Management Systems (DMS) such as MyPlant and PIMs. </li><li> Strong communication skills, both verbal and written </li></ul><br> <b> What will set you apart will be your extensive Australian O&G Brownfields experience as an I&C Engineer in the Australian O&G (offshore & onshore) sector. </b> <br><br>It takes a diverse and inclusive community of inquisitive minds to unlock tomorrow's solutions to the world's most critical challenges.
