Your Role: We look for candidates who are competent and committed to the SolarWinds Mission and display exemplary attitude. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Lead Security Engineer and will work directly on conducting vulnerability assessments against network and systems devices deployed in the SolarWinds enterprise environment. Tasks include setting up, configuring, and maintaining our enterprise vulnerability scanner, working with IT infrastructure and network engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities, and track tickets assigned to those teams through closure. Responsibilities Your Impact: This is a hands-on role that requires a good understanding of foundational security principles with confidentiality, integrity, and availability. You will help to drive the security assessments of threats and vulnerabilities, help identify deviations from acceptable security baselines, and provide recommendations on appropriate levels of risk You will help lead efforts to manage our security processes and procedures that include endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and endpoint detection and response You will collaborate with our security operations center (SOC) and incident response (IR) teams by helping to guide the daily operational monitoring and escalation of information security events and at times functioning as an incident responder to examine security events for context, appropriateness, and criticality You will have responsibility for helping to lead vulnerability management efforts and working with key business stakeholders to enforce remediation efforts You will assist the systems and network security group with reviewing and updating security operations playbooks and security support documentation related to vulnerability management, endpoint security, and endpoint detection, and response. Qualifications Your Experience: Broad understanding of the cyber security threat landscape and the tools; exhibit passion and dedication to the information security profession and craft Must be self-directed, able to manage small tasks or participate as part of a larger team and be able to manage multiple deadlines Able to demonstrate strong initiative and ability to organize daily tasks Ability to execute on plan and act with urgency Agile with a collaborative, curious, and inventive mindset Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and makes thoughtful recommendations Excellent verbal and written communication skills
