Principal Process Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking a <b>Principal Process Engineer</b> in order to grow its Brisbane Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. <br><br>Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. As part of this integral role, duties will include: <br><ul><li> Serve as an advisor to other technical personnel, building capability in area of expertise<br> </li><li> Work with project groups as an expert technical advisor on designs, processes, and engineering methods<br> </li><li> Solve complex non-recurring problems requiring formulating and testing hypotheses based on limited evidence or precedent; exercises advanced judgment and relies on personal experience in developing innovative technical solutions<br> </li><li> Identify new digital applications, models, technologies, and solutions driven by current and future anticipated customer needs<br> </li><li> Help colleagues and clients understand the future and potential impacts of new technology and technical capability </li><li> Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews </li><li> Deliver best practice process designs in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements </li><li> Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities </li><li> Plan, execute and analyse metallurgical testwork programs </li><li> Prepare process deliverables such as process design criteria, process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process control philosophies, operating cost estimates and study reports </li><li> Assist with business development activities and the preparation of proposal documentation </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>What will set you apart is your previous experience working on major mining or minerals processing projects through an engineering company. You will also have: <br><ul><li> Experience with commodities such as nickel, cobalt, copper, lithium and rare earths would be highly regarded, preferably in large concentrator design </li><li> A minimum of 16 years' resource industry experience </li><li> Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institute </li><li> Relevant process plant operational experience </li><li> Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills </li><li> Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills </li><li> Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team </li><li> Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs </li><li> Experience with metallurgical balancing and simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM would be highly regarded </li></ul><br> Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered.
