Senior Civil & Structural Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is seeking applications from Senior Civil & Structural Designers to strengthen our team in Dubai. <br><br>This is a Home Office position based in Dubai, but it may involve occasional visits to the Client offices and/or site in Iraq. Normal working time will be 48 hours per week (9.6 hours per day). <br><br><b>The Role:</b> <br><ul><li> Executing assigned scopes of work. <br></li><li> Supporting and supervising task delegation to team. <br></li><li> Providing discipline support to the business </li><li> Provides coaching and mentoring for direct reports. </li><li> Supervision of Designers. Provides input to the performance management of direct reports. </li><li> Manages performance of direct reports. </li><li> Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement. </li><li> Monitor compliance with competence standards. </li><li> Participate in incident investigations as required </li><li> Interact with multi-discipline Engineering teams. </li><li> Executing assigned personal objectives. </li><li> Continue to develop team working & communication skills. </li><li> Perform surveys and answer site queries. </li><li> Showing an enthusiasm to learn. </li><li> Attend meetings as and when required. </li><li> Review and check the work of designer. </li><li> Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget </li></ul><br><br><b>Subject Matter Expertise:</b> <br><ul><li> Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development. </li><li> Provide discipline support to the business. </li><li> Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation. </li><li> Proficient in scope definition. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Minimum Qualifications</b> <br><ul><li> Diploma and relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering. </li><li> Membership of a recognised professional institute is preferred </li></ul><br> <b>Minimum Experience</b> <br><ul><li> Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industries </li><li> Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage. </li><li> Proficient in design of steel structures and foundation </li><li> Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context. </li><li> Professional demeanor, interpersonal skills. </li><li> Able to demonstrate team working skills. </li><li> Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn. </li><li> Flexible with a can-do attitude. </li><li> Experience in brownfield jobs and FEED jobs <br></li></ul><br> <b>Core Values and Behaviours</b> <br><ul><li> Practice company core values, policies and compliance with Ethics Policy.
