<p><b>Lifting Technical Authority</b><br /><br /></p><p>Position: Long Term Contract / Permanent</p><p>Location: Oilfield Site based, Iraq</p><p>Rotation: 4 weeks on X 4 weeks off</p><p> </p><p>In support of our global lifting and rigging specialist client, OBM are recruiting for an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our client's site-based team as Lifting Technical Authority. <br /><br /></p><p>As the successful candidate, you will be energetic, tenacious and driven, and have a proven track record of excellence and demonstrable strong understanding of working in remote locations with multi-cultural personnel.</p><p>You will have experience of working in high pressure operational conditions and locations and possess a mindset of continuous improvement along with extensive lifting experience of oil &amp; gas land rig and heavy lift situations. A focus and</p><p>background in safety awareness and communication within a tight-knit team working in a hostile environment is essential.</p><p>Areas of expertise should include heavy-lifts, heavy transport, organisation of lifting operations and communication within a multi-lingual and multi-cultural workplace. Reporting to our client's Technical Manager, the role is a</p><p>rotational based position working at our client oilfield site in Iraq.</p><p>You may also be required to work at other client facilities in the UK or internationally. A full UK Driving Licence is essential.</p><p> </p><p><b>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</b></p><p> </p><p>* Provide guidance and oversight of lifting operations across client operations including Drilling, Well-Services, Maintenance, Project/Construction and Warehouse activities</p><p>* Review, authorise and endorse lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments for all categories of lift</p><p>* Lifting engineering consultancy as required, for the development of any engineering studies, document or lifting incident investigation</p><p>* Support client needs both on-site and remote support as a subject matter expert</p><p>* Conduct technical reviews of client activities, equipment and personnel and provide technical reports</p><p>* Deliver competency assurance and development both internally and to clients</p><p>* Review and development of technical and training materials to client and internally</p><p>* Support client and company activities / departments as a technical function</p><p>* Instil best practice behaviour and activities</p><p>* Support quality assurance activities and mentor inexperienced colleagues</p><p>* Create and develop client and intercompany documentation, create and deliver training materials</p><p>* Development of client site based lifting community of practice</p><p>* Maintenance, assurance and audit of client certification / thorough examination processes</p><p> </p><p><b>Minimum Competencies </b></p><p>* Strong communication and interpersonal skills</p><p>* Excellent Time Management skills</p><p>* Good documentation skills</p><p>* Crane and heavy lift knowledge</p><p>* Calendar and project stage gate management</p><p>* Land Rig Movement Experience</p><p> </p><p><b>Desirable Competencies:</b></p><p>* Competence Assessor (OPITO/SQA)</p><p>* Significant experience in LTA / Lifting SME Role</p><p>* Mobile Crane Operator</p><p>* Forklift Operator</p><p>* MEWP Operator</p><p>* IOSH Managing Safely</p><p> </p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></p><p>* Degree Level (Engineering Preferred)</p><p>* CPCS Appointed Person (or equivalent)</p><p>* CPCS Crane Supervisor (or equivalent)</p><p>* LOLER Competent Person Assessment</p><p>* Rigging Competency (EAL / OPITO / ECITB etc)</p><p>* Banksman Slinger Competency (EAL / OPITO / ECITB etc)</p><p> </p><p>As you would expect from a highly progressive client, an attractive remuneration package is available to the successful applicant.</p><p> </p>
