Helper

The position performs work in support of one or more of the key job functions in mining and/or milling barite. The functions supported by this role are: crusher, jig plant, or mill operations; electrical or mechanical maintenance; and heavy equipment operations. <br> <br> <b>Role and Responsibilities:</b><br> <ul> <li> Cleaning - using hand shovels, picks, brooms;</li> <li> Supporting mechanical and electrical maintenance - in carrying tools, materials; tightening/loosening nuts, bolts; lifting and pulling loads with come-along, chain blocks, electrical hoists; rigging objects to be hoisted with cables or chains.</li> <li> Supporting operations - by servicing/fueling heavy mobile equipment; shuttling equipment to and from various sites.</li> <li> Training for jobs of higher skills - operator of mobile equipment or plant, or a craftsman helper.</li> <li> Lift, carry, manipulate tools;</li> <li> Handle and stack up to 100
sacks on pallets;</li> <li> Work on shift schedules including night and graveyard shifts;</li> <li> Occasionally climb onto and work on high perches on tall storage bins, conveyor structures, or buildings;</li> <li> Perform repetitive hand and arm functions as are required operating jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come-along;</li> <li> Climb up and down inclines and slopes with aid of stairs or ropes.</li> <li> Be responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and the Company's procedures and guidelines in the performance of their duties.</li> <li> Perform their job safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.</li> <li> Continually inspect their work areas for unsafe or substandard conditions or unsafe work practices.</li> <li> Correct or take interim action on any unsafe or substandard conditions or practices that they observe and report to the immediate supervisor.</li> <li> Participate, as required, in all training classes and exercises.</li> <li> Participate, as required, in all HSE performance development activities and systems.</li> <li> Report all injury, near-miss, property damage and hazardous conditions to their immediate supervisor.</li> </ul> <br> <b>Qualifications and Experience: </b><br> <ul> <li> Candidates must live in or around Battle Mountain, Nevada, or are willing to move to or around Battle Mountain, Nevada at their own expense.</li> <li> Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship. </li> </ul> <br> Schlumberger is an equal employment opportunity employer.
