Platform Delivery - Solution Designer

This position within Eaton’s Data Center Technology Debt Delivery team will be responsible for designing technology solutions to support key initiatives within Eaton's Data Centers and Remote Site locations. Working closely with the Project Manager, this position will be the technical lead to coordinate all aspects of the technology solution from gathering requirements, design development, to go-live support for a given project/initiative. Location: Home-Office from Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic or Poland Your Key Deliverables Designs, support builds, delivers, and provide go-live support for Windows, RHEL, Storage, VMWare, and Oracle Platforms to meet customer requirements while driving availability, resiliency, recoverability, and performance in the solution design process. Will lead overall efforts in working with cross-functional teams throughout the life of the project. Understands and utilizes defined processes and standards for each platform technology. Highlights design risks, provide alternative options, and recommends quality solutions to specified problems. Incorporates security controls into overall system design. Work closely with subject matter experts to develop appropriate solution based on customer requirements and adherence to standards. Provides subject matter expertise and leadership of solution designers contributing to integrated solution designs, development, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Evaluates industry technologies to shape design of services in consideration of cost, portability, compatibility, or usability factors. Identifies and recommends appropriate changes to technologies, integrated platforms, and systems to meet customer requirements. Provides key input on current and future demand of platform technologies based on project and request trending to meet customer demand. Are you? Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent Strong experience working in Information Technologies Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8, VMWare Virtualization Platform, Citrix Strong understanding of end to end solution design as it relates to platform technologies Virtual infrastructure design and hands on deployment (VMWare) Solid understanding of automation principles and scripting/programming experience Experience with project management methodologies and tools Experience working with a formal change management process Strong proficiency with English language (written and verbal) Ability to interface with IT Leadership and give professional presentations and communications to diverse audience levels Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, ability to communicate them clearly to upper management Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and apply to business needs Ability to effectively work in a global team Desired Oracle Database Infrastructure Platforms (Exadata, ZDLRA) Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Then we want to hear about you!
