Security Alarm Systems Technician ICIDS

Job Summary The ICIDS System Technician will provide required maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the existing ICIDS IV networks and components. The position requires familiarity with all hardware, software, network infrastructure and related system software and computer equipment for an ICIDS installation environment. The technician will maintain a system comprised of Lenel OnGuard, IR motion detectors, fingerprint scanners, badge readers, CCTV cameras and other IDS components. • Coordinate network and systems administration requirements with other sections of the IT Department. • Troubleshoot all system deficiencies and failures and repair or replace as the situation requires. • Execute scheduled inspections of all components as required. • Provide routine and scheduled system reports to IT management for reporting to primary stakeholders. • Works independently to respond to specific situations; resolve problems and deviations according to established practices; and obtain advice where precedents are unclear or not available. • Carries out objectives, priorities and deadlines as defined by the IT Manager. • Provide close coordination with other technicians and support personnel who assist in specific assignments. Minimum Requirements • A minimum of five (5) years of experience servicing IDS, CCTV, and communication equipment. • Technician must have valid training, certifications and/or licenses in IDS, CCTV, and communications systems. • Technician must possess a current clearance at SECRET level to perform maintenance in classified areas. • Technician must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). • Requires competence in low voltage ESS systems and communication components. • Knowledge of pertinent system software and computer equipment. • Knowledge of work processes, applicable regulations, and practices of the assigned subject-matter area. • Good problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently. • Technician must speak fluent English.
