The job The Novel Oral Modalities in Advanced Drug delivery (NOMADd) team, within OSD, is performing groundbreaking research on oral delivery of new therapeutic modalities including peptides and oligonucleotides. As a Senior Scientist within NOMADd your objective will be to coordinate collaborations (internal and external) within the field of oral macromolecule delivery. Your tasks include scouting the external landscape for innovative solutions and driving existing academic and industrial collaborations. You will be involved in the formulation activities, such as small-scale preparation of tablets, encapsulation, GI-targeting, etc. in support of our oral gut-restricted and systemic pipeline and discovery programs. You will work closely together with Pharmacology, Analytical Development, DMPK, and other R&D teams within the Global Janssen R&D organization. You will contribute to intellectual property, and ensure accurate planning, knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and evaluating formulation work in collaboration with other scientists as well as with our expert laboratory technicians. Qualifications Qualifications You must hold a relevant Ph.D., preferably in Pharmaceutical Technology, and you have acquired profound knowledge in oral drug delivery technologies and deep insight in the GI-tract physiology as well as relevant animal models. It is important that you have a strong track record of original research within oral drug delivery. Previous industrial experience is a plus. It will also be an advantage if you have experience with patents or from an R&D setting and/or specific knowledge in the oral delivery of macromolecules. You have a flexible mindset which is helpful in the constantly evolving project environment. To make your ideas practical, you must possess a certain amount of innovation and creativity and be able to think and act unconventionally. You have good project management and communication skills. You will need good network and interaction abilities and very good English skills – both written and spoken.
