Job Purpose : Lead the entire engineering function inclusive of maintenance, projects and utilities. Maximising asset utilization in the most cost-effective manner without compromising on safety, quality, service or environment. The role requires an understanding of modern maintenance techniques and procedures as well as a good working operational knowledge of a manufacturing site. The person must be capable of ensuring quick reaction to daily business needs, be able to balance this against dedicating an appropriate amount of time/energy to liaise with Reliability/ Maintenance / Automation Managers in developing improvement strategies and action plans. Principal Accountabilities : Ensure effective management of all engineering functions to ensure maximum equipment/utilities reliability and performance. Ensure equipment compliance to PI engineering standards. Ensure compliance to all relevant personnel and product safety requirements. Control and monitor engineering related expenditure against budget. Ensure compliance to purchasing policies, including asset register management. Manage the selection and appointment process to ensure that competent and highly skilled maintenance technicians are hired. Manage the development process of the engineering department in order to ensure individuals competence is optimised to deliver performance objectives. Supervise the implementation of all capital investment projects. Manage related budgets within set budgets To implement, sustain and participate in the continual improvement of the EHS Management System (MS) at area of responsibility in accordance to the legislations, PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant EHS standards, ensuring proper controls for all hazards and risks associated with all activities/areas are in place and EHS targets are achieved.GCS CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES – as “Control Owner” The Control Owner has the following responsibilities for the effective execution of the key control. Responsibilities: Understand the objective of the control Document the test script attributes for effective execution of the control Evaluate the effectiveness of the control through testing Maintain an audit trail to evidence execution of the activities, sufficient to enable re-performance by independent 3rd party Remediate any control deficiency Provide results of verification Output Test Script – completed and signed Evidential Audit Trail – maintained for third party reviewOutput: Test Script – completed and signed Evidential Audit Trail – maintained for third party reviewDecision - Making Authority : The jobholder makes decisions that influence the daily operation on engineering activities. Decides on staff appointments. Jobholder authorises expenses in line with budget. The jobholder balances the trade-off equation between cost, service and quality.
LI-MENA Qualifications/Requirements Knowledge / Skill : B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Read plans/schematic drawings (in the field of qualification) Draw up technical policies and long-range plans Have Quality and Food Safety QFS systems and policies knowledge Environment, Health and Safety EHS systems and policies knowledge Have good command of English language (written and spoken). Can prepare preventive maintenance schedules and programmes. Experience : Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years related experience Project Management Experience Budget Management experience Preventive Maintenance experience Experience in warehouse/ inventory and spare parts managementCompetencies : Team player & Leadership skills Have good communication and interpersonal skills Problems/ conflicts solving intellect Analytical thinker Able to do independent testing and activate installations.Are you ready?
