Materials Equipment Specialist

<strong>Department</strong><br><br>Supply Chain Operations <br><strong>Job Summary</strong><br><br><p> The Materials Equipment Specialist coordinates the maintenance, repair and flow of equipment, as well as, manages and establishes a cost effective supply distribution system by evaluating and monitoring supply storage, back orders and pricing while maintaining adequate quantities of supplies. The Specialist is also responsible for interacting with hospital end-users and vendors providing assistance to the end-user in procuring non-routine, non-standard goods and services, as well as, identifying the most appropriate vendor for supplies and services utilizing approved vendors whenever possible, following policies, standards, and procedures and referencing any existing contracts.<br /></p> <br><strong>Required Qualifications</strong><br><br><p> - Require two (2) years of related experience, preferably in a health care setting.<br /></p> <br><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong><br><br><p> - Prefer a team player and self-starter who is accurate and detail oriented.<br />- Prefer demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.<br />- Prefer demonstrated ability to prioritize a variety of duties.<br />- Prefer demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems with little or no assistance.<br />- Prefer proficiency in the use of software, including Excel, along with prior experience with PeopleSoft.<br />- Prefer demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and timetables.<br />- Prefer knowledge of budgets, accounting, and medical terminology.<br />- Prefer knowledgeable in healthcare purchasing and distribution.<br /></p> <br><strong>Mandatory Education</strong><br><br><p> HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate<br /></p> <br><strong>Preferred Education</strong><br><br><p> AD: Associate's Degree<br /></p> <br><strong>Required License and Certs</strong><br><br><p> </p> <br><strong>Preferred License and Certs</strong><br><br><p> </p> <p style=
