Rig Superintendent

<p><u>Job Purpose:</u></p>

<p>To provide overall leadership and supervision of drilling operations, ensuring that drilling programs are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The Rig Superintendent is accountable for overseeing rig site operations, personnel performance, equipment reliability, and adherence to all company policies, regulatory standards, and HSE procedures.</p>

<p><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></p>

<ul>
<li>Supervise all rig site activities including drilling, well completion, and workover operations.</li>
<li>Ensure full compliance with the drilling program, including casing, mud, cementing, and logging activities.</li>
<li>Manage rig crews and service company personnel to maintain high standards of productivity and safety.</li>
<li>Lead daily operations meetings and safety briefings.</li>
<li>Promote and enforce adherence to HSE policies, standards, and procedures.</li>
<li>Ensure all rig equipment is maintained, inspected, and operated within safety and technical specifications.</li>
<li>Prepare and review daily reports, cost tracking sheets, and operational summaries.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with drilling engineers, logistics, supply chain, and head office.</li>
<li>Provide technical input for drilling optimization and problem resolution.</li>
<li>Ensure all operations conform with local regulations and company policies.</li>
<li>Maintain well control certification and ensure crew is compliant with certifications and training</li>

<p><u>Key Requirements (Qualifications & Experience):</u></p>

<ul>
<li>BSc or HND in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 12 years upstream drilling experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.</li>
<li>Strong background in drilling operations on land and/or offshore rigs.</li>
<li>Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification.</li>
<li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-risk environments.</li>
<li>Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Excellent understanding of drilling technologies, equipment, and techniques.</li>
<li>Decision-making under pressure and crisis management.</li>
<li>Proficiency in drilling software and reporting tools (e.g., WellView, DIMS).</li>
