HEAD, PORT REGULATIONS

<b>Department</b><br><br> RAS LAFFAN PORT <br><br> <b>Primary Purpose of the Job</b><br><br><p>Manage the development and enforcement of port regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant national, regional and international maritime laws, conventions and regulations. Responsible for port safety and security within port boundaries; and interfacing with relevant QatarEnergy departments.</p><br><br><b>Required Experience and Skills</b><br><br><ul><li>Command experience preferable. </li><li>Minimum 15 years maritime experience with 5 years experience in management role in various maritime or port positions</li><li>Required to have extensive knowledge of International Maritime Conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.). marine legislation, seaport rules, regulations, policies, practices and procedures pertaining to vessel movernents and cargo operations activities.</li><li>Ability to work independently as a leader in introducing innovative solutions as well as ability to work as a team member. Mature and strong interpersonal skills.</li><li>Fluent in English. Arabic is an advantage.</li></ul><br><br><b>Educational Qualifications</b><br><br><ul><li>Internationally recognised senior maritime qualification or degree in Transport / Maritime Studies preferably with post graduate qualifications in Maritime Law</li></ul>
