Instrument<b> </b>& Electrical (I&E) Inspector<br> <br> The Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Inspector ensures that all instrumentation and electrical quality requirements of construction are met according to company procedures and international codes of practice. The role requires a thorough understanding of I&E construction practices in a petrochemical or process plant environment, adhering to applicable codes and standards.<br> <br> <b>Key Responsibilities:</b><li>Verify compliance with contract requirements by monitoring and attending witness and hold points from goods receiving to commissioning.</li><li>Ensure field instrumentation, cables, grounding, junction boxes, tubing, piping, and related electrical and instrumentation equipment are installed according to construction drawings.</li><li>Calibrate field instruments and control valves as per specifications and standards.</li><li>Maintain thorough familiarity with project codes, standards, schedules, drawings, and documentation.</li><li>Evaluate the installation of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project electrical codes and standards.</li><li>Maintain records of inspection activities and complete daily inspection reports highlighting findings.</li><li>Review contractor's test and inspection methods, witness, and sign off as required.</li><li>Perform requisite QA/QC tests on all field instrumentation, cables, grounding, junction boxes, tubing, piping, and related electrical and instrumentation equipment.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and contractor personnel.</li><li>Collaborate with contractors to solve problems and consult with the project I&E engineer to ensure compliance.</li><li>Review and approve contractor method statements for field construction activities.</li><li>Review project documentation, including Construction Dossiers, Instrument & Electrical drawings, equipment data sheets, and Mechanical Data Books.</li><li>Participate in project review meetings.</li><li>Engage in risk assessments such as JSRAs, What-Ifs, and contingency planning.</li><li>Review procedures and verify proper electrical isolation using LOTTO before fieldwork commences.</li><li>Provide support for fieldwork, ensuring adherence to established safe practices and procedures.</li><li>Participate in construction walk-downs and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).</li><li>Support and actively participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including punch listing, loop checks, troubleshooting field instrumentation, quality checks, and powering up and testing electrical equipment.</li><br> <b>Minimum Qualifications:</b><li>UTT or NEC National Technician Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.</li><li>At least 12 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 7 years in I&E construction, turnaround, and commissioning in the Oil and Gas Industry.</li><br> <b>Skills and Knowledge Requirements:</b><ul><li>Proficiency in computer use.</li><li>Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills.</li><li>Effective communication skills.</li><li>Good technical writing skills.</li><li>Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.</li><li>Proven ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings.</li></ul><br /><br />With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil &amp; Gas, Power &amp; Renewables, Chemicals, Construction &amp; Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and&nbsp;Manufacturing&nbsp;sectors worldwide.
