Position Summary The Technical Manager will oversee and manage all technical aspects of subsea oil and gas projects within our organization. This role ensures that engineering and technical operations meet industry standards, company specifications, and project requirements. The Technical Manager will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and provide strategic direction to ensure the successful execution of subsea projects. Duties & Responsibilities Functions ESSENTIAL • Project Oversight: Lead and manage the technical execution of subsea projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets. • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on subsea engineering challenges, including design, installation, and maintenance of subsea systems. • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal departments to ensure seamless communication and technical alignment. • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all technical work adheres to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution, providing innovative solutions and recommendations. • Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders. Safety Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment. Other Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment. Supervisory Responsibilities • This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications REQUIRED • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Subsea, or related field). A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in subsea oil and gas operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. • Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with subsea equipment and technologies, including ROVs, subsea trees, and umbilicals. DESIRED • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., API, DNV GL, PMP) are highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Subsea Systems: Deep understanding of subsea engineering principles, equipment, and technologies. • Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing subsea operations and safety. • Project Management: Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. • Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams. • Technical Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly. • Project Management: Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with a track record of successful project delivery. • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
