Þpartment Spiritual Care Department Job Summary Provides spiritual and bereavement care to meet the needs of patients, families, significant others, and staff. Serves as a liaison for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) committees and community-related groups. Required Qualifications - Require a master’s degree in Pastoral Care or related field and/or equivalent. - Require a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years chaplain experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Successful completion of an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education residency can substitute on a year-for-year basis for required experience. - Require experience in handling stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and assisting with patients, families, significant others, and staff during times of crisis and turmoil. - Require providing twenty-four (24) hour on-call coverage/support. Preferred Qualifications - Prefer four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education. - Prefer ordination by ecclesiastical authority or equivalent. - Prefer demonstrated ability to serve a diversity of culture.
