Sequim WDTS RENEW Pathway Summer School - Undergrad

Overview Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is hosting a Pathway Summer School for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW) initiative sponsored by the Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS). The WDTS RENEW Pathway Summer Schools aim to diversify the STEM pathway via hands-on learning opportunities at DOE national laboratories for students currently experiencing barriers to enter the STEM pathways. Examples of barriers include aspects of resource and necessity limitations, transportation, and cultural limitations. The WDTS RENEW Pathway Summer School at PNNL will create a regional STEM learning hub focused on critical needs (1) to engage and retain students in STEM studies; and (2) to prepare them for WDTS internships and other pathways that lead to diversifying the future energy sciences workforce. Our PNNL Office of STEM Education (OSE) is seeking undergraduate students who are interested in STEM studies or careers to participate in a 5-week active learning experience this summer at the Richland and Sequim campuses. Students of all backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.
