Our client is seeking a Senior Foundations Engineer (Permanent Staff role). This is a Renewables Opportunity. The role is based in Aberdeen following the hybrid policy of 3 days in the office 2 days working from home. There may be occasional opportunities to attend the Edinburgh office, however this will be occasional.</p>

Activities:</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
Manage the review process of the foundation design documents, in alignment with the project review process. </p>
<p>
Ensure that other internal stakeholders/reviewers have been involved and collate and consolidate the various comments.</p>
<p>
Support the WTG Foundations, OSS Package Managers and Interface Manager in ensuring that interfaces with other packages, contractors and stakeholders are identified and appropriately managed.</p>
<p>
Coordinate integration of other input into optimizing WTG and OSS Foundations solutions, such as that obtained from EPCI contractors, consultants and the wider industry.</p>
<p>

<p>
Review in detail the WTG and OSS Foundations design studies such as conceptual, FEED and detailed designs performed by external parties. </p>
<p>
Ability to check the designer's design reports and calculations is necessary, the Foundation Engineer shall be able to perform independent calculations, covering both structural and geotechnical designs.</p>
<p>
Review and comment on design standards adopted by the project contractors. </p>
<p>
Review and comment on design procedures proposed by the project contractors.</p>
<p>
Review and comment on compliance with the relevant specification. </p>
<p>

<p>
Manage the integrated Load Iteration (ILA) process between the WTG foundation designer and the WTG designer, including the involvement from the design certifier for independent review/calculations.</p>
<p>
Liaising with the Certification Manager to ensure that the certification process is run efficiently. Creation of a strong and cooperative relationship between the designers, OWPL and the certifier is of paramount importance. </p>
<p>
Promote good HSSE practices and ensure HSE / CDM requirements are fully implemented.</p>
<p>
Ensure the foundation design is compliant with the relevant HSE legislation, recommendation and industry practice</p>
<p>
Ensure 'Safe by design' is fully implemented and risks reduced to ALARP</p>
<p>
Make sure that temporary phases are well integrated into the design, including requirements from other stakeholders such as manufacturers, T&amp;I contractors, Cable contractors, WTG contractors, OSP contractors, etc.</p>
<p>

<p>
Organise, lead and minute key technical meetings in relation to the above activities.</p>
<p>
Preparation of technical documents/ papers for internal review</p>
<p>
Prepare internal reporting as required.</p>
<p>
Preparation of employer's requirements and technical specifications </p>
<p>
Lead technical evaluation of proposals and evaluation of suppliers as part of tender processes in coordination with the WTG Foundations and OSS Package Managers, and the commercial team.</p>
<p>
Review the foundation suppliers manufacturing methods, quality plans etc such that the design requirements are fulfilled.</p>
<p>
Contribute to the identification and management of technical risks, issues and impacts to the project associated with the WTG and OSS foundations scope.</p>
<p>
Liaise with experts within the JV shareholders to ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learnt from previous projects.</p>

Qualifications/Experience Required</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
Be degree educated in engineering or a related field with considerable experience in the field of offshore structures design/assessment and preferably in offshore wind </p>
<p>
Experience and knowledge of offshore wind WTG and OSS foundations is essential, in particular within foundations design.</p>
<p>
Proven technical know-how in the field of offshore wind foundations and technical project management skills, specifically:</p>
<p>
Familiarity with codes and standards such as DNV-ST-0126, DNV-ST-145, DNV-ST-0437, ISO 19900, 19901, 19902, Eurocodes</p>
<p>
Experience of offshore structural analysis using software such as SESAM, SACS etc</p>
<p>
Understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations in relation to the design, procurement and installation of offshore wind assets</p>
<p>
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate external and internal stakeholders.</p>
<p>
Good communication skills to enable effective discussions and transfer of information amongst contractors, team members and other stakeholders.</p>
<p>
Highly motivated, forward-thinking and ready to implement innovative solutions.</p>
<p>
Ability to work as a member of a large and multidisciplinary team.</p>
<p>
Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken.</p>
