Þscription The PGY2 Pharmacy Resident position is part of a full-time, one-year residency program designed to provide advanced specialized training and clinical experience to PGY1 graduates. This residency program offers a comprehensive curriculum with diverse learning opportunities in specialized pharmacy practice settings: critical care, infectious diseases, oncology or solid organ transplant. The resident will work under the supervision of experienced preceptors to enhance their clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional development. Responsibilities Participate in direct patient care activities, including medication reconciliation, therapeutic drug monitoring, and adult code blue response (critical care program only). Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care outcomes. Develop and implement pharmaceutical care plans, ensuring safe and effective medication use. Engage in medication management activities, including drug utilization evaluations and formulary management. Conduct medication safety assessments and contribute to adverse event reporting systems. Provide drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers. Participate in pharmacy practice research projects, including study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and educational conferences. Complete all required residency program requirements, including projects, presentations, and rotations. Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency. Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in New York State. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning. Compensation Statement The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $51,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
