Responsibilities Responsible for assisting the Manager in managing the school’s cafeteria team to produce healthy, tasty meals for students Assists in supervising, directing, and evaluating staff Ensures that all kitchen activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards Assists in managing cash receipting functions for the school cafeteria Operates and maintains kitchen equipment Assists in maintaining inventory of food and supplies, including ordering Completes and maintains all required records Coaches and trains staff Assists in preparation, serving, and cleaning Promotes school nutrition program and nutrition education Steps in as Acting Manager in the Manager’s absence Tasks require performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds. Must be: Dependable Positive Great with people Adaptable and willing to embrace change Passionate about serving students Willing to learn and grow as a school nutrition professional Qualifications Minimum qualifications required: Must have successfully completed the HCS School Nutrition Manager Training, including passing the final course exam.
