Overview R&D Regulatory Affairs Associate Principle Scientist role provides: Onsite regulatory support for PGCS Guangzhou and PepsiCo China including raw material compliance (local source and imported), production process and licencing, concentrate and semi-finished kit compliance, change management, packaging material compliance, external affairs and ad-hoc support for China Beverage category regulatory affairs. Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Confirm compliance of raw materials with Chinese regulations together with global & local regulatory affairs Support self-imported raw materials by managing import compliance in conjunction with Customs & Trade team, preparing regulatory import information for submission to import authorities and governing compliant label design Manage compliance of concentrate kits to China regulations Manage regulatory label data, GHS worker safety label data and concentrate specification compliance Provide regulatory support to PGCS Operations, Quality and Supply teams on production licence management and inspections/audits Interpret and respond to regulatory change, analyse actions required to maintain compliance with cross function teams Maintain compliance of existing data, documents and labels during regulatory change Maintain packaging compliance through checking Declarations of Compliance using in-house PRCS system Support local regulatory team as required on beverage compliance External Regulatory Affairs: Engage with trade associations and industry groups to lead on regulatory external affairs agenda for PGCS in China, providing expert input into development of general and product specific Chinese standards/regulations Engage directly with competent authorities as required to provide regulatory industry input at city, provincial and national levels of government Functional Excellence: Plan, organize and provide food regulations training to improve the compliance awareness of relevant personnel Working as part of cross-functional project teams providing regulatory governance for China. Collaborate with RA communities on other strategic projects. Qualifications Minimum of Bachelors degree or equivalent in science, food science, regulatory affairs, supply chain or other relevant discipline Experience working in food industry in a regulatory affairs or relevant role in China (5 years +) Good knowledge of China Regulatory framework including food additives and finish product Demonstrated understanding of raw material/ingredient compliance is preferred Demonstrated experience in engaging with external authorities, competent authories, inspectors and/or trade associations Excellent Communication and influencing skill English-fluent spoken and written Multinational Food Company regulatory experience is preferred
