NES Fircroft is recruiting a Shutdown Mechanical Project Engineer on behalf of ConocoPhillips based at their terminal, Seal Sands in Teesside. This is a long-term contract opportunity. 37.5hrs per week. Excellent rates and benefits. <br> <br> The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. With ongoing production from Ekofisk and Eldfisk, other redeveloped fields and new exploration projects in the works, the future looks bright as we prepare for a lifetime to 2050.<br> <br> <b>Primary Role Objectives</b><br> <b>Projects Management</b><ul><li>Responsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly mechanically biased) executed within unit shutdown outage windows</li><li>Responsible for the development and execution of projects, from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction & Commissioning</li><li>Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as require</li><li>Project managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislatio</li><li>Analyse problems and provide technical input to drive appropriate and pragmatic solutions</li><li>Liaison/interface with the relevant Technical Authority on issues and deviation request including developing technical specifications</li><li>Responsible for Project Cost Control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work scope is effectively and efficiently delivered</li><li>Carry out audits and readiness reviews to ensure projects are in compliance with the project delivery process and are aligned with key delivery milestones</li><li>Proactive management of stakeholders chairing project meetings and other key forums.</li><li>Support the preparation of tenders and participate in bid analysis for key packages of work</li><li>Develop cost estimates including submission of formal funding requests</li><li>Drive continuous improvement & development of the shutdown delivery models to become best in class</li><li>Proactively participate in safety and design and construction reviews</li><li>Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments</li><li>Attend FAT's and provide quality assurance for construction activities</li><li>Support completions with technical review and punchlisting of modifications</li></ul><br> <b>Skills, Experience & Competencies</b><ul><li>Strong project engineering and technical background in mechanical discipline</li><li>Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status)</li><li>Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Piping, Static Vessels, Civil, Asset Integrity and Rotating</li><li>Demonstrable experience of managing and safely delivering small to medium scale multi-disciplined projects</li><li>Knowledge &/or experience of shutdowns or unit overhauls would be beneficial</li><li>Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry</li><li>Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a positive
