Application Design Engineer - Power System

We are looking for Power System Specialist in Regional Engineering Platform (REP Delhi) to handle Global projects Minimum 5 years in handling Power system studies Mission - Provides technical complex designs and optimizations to customer projects & services teams, by having solid technical knowledge and knowhow in an application domain or subdomain - Understands customer needs and translates them into technical requirements; may help customers to define their needs - Helps establish project or service technical strategies, internal procedures & best practices in his/her application domain/subdomain - Communicates results, issues, and solutions internally and to customers - Troubleshoots product and system issues related to his/her application domain/subdomain - Provides some commercial argumentation to project teams or management, and identifies & reports potential technical risks if any - May provide coaching & training as well as instructions/assistance to early carrier or subordinates Skills and Experiences Working expereince in Power system study and Protection application knowledge in Substation HV, MV & LV system - Perform Power Systems studies including Load flow, Short circuit, Transient study, Motor acceleration and reacceleratyion studies, Harmonic analysis, Islanding studies, ARC flash Analysis - Prepare protection Relay setting calcualtion and OC & EF Coordination - Knowledge of various protection applications including differential, distance, generator & motor is must - Be able to perform equipment & cable sizing, Insulation coordination study, Transformer sizing, NGR & NGT sizing, CT sizing, Capacitor sizing, Breaker sizing, UPS, Battery and Battery Charger sizing, etc., - CT & VT sizing, adequency check, Voltage Dip/ Drop Studies - Familiar with IEC & ANSI standard Knowledge - Familiar with ETAP, PSCAD and others tools - Technical cupport to tendering team during bid by anaylsing customer specification to define Scope of Work and engineering cost estimation - Be able to prepare detailed study report for customer approval - Familiarity and Work experience with all ranges of SE numerical relays - ABB, Simenes, GE, SEL & others makes relays knowledge and work experience will be an added advantages - Basic understanding of SCADA and Communication protocols including IEC61850, Modbus, etc - Basic understanding knowledge on Control and Protection panel design drawing is must - To coordinate with Internal or end customer for technical cooridantion, design & document approval - Good in english communications (written and verbal) - Effectively communicate and coordinate with all internal & external stake holders during project execution/ Sitecommissioning at site - International project execution experience will be an added advantage - Data Center segment and OGP work experience will add on advantage - Familiar and working experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) Main responsibilities Other Skills : - Ability to lead functional and remote technical teams - Ability to communicate (written, verbal) in concise and synthetic manner on technical issues/topics - Ability to read and understand applicable standards - Ability to learn from others, share her/his knowledge, coach others and collaborate efficiently. - Ability to work and cooperate in international and inter-cultural environment - Segment Exposure : Data Center, Oil & Gas, MMM, Building, Mobility, etc., - Software tools literacy for Report : MS Office, Acrobat, AutoCAD, Scope and Environment : - Works both in autonomy and in teamwork, with contribution to optimize and secure project or service teams' technical solution designs. - Works for internal project and service technical teams (Engineering, Tendering, Sales, etc.,) along all the customer installation lifecycle, with direct interaction with external stakeholders/customers related to his/her application domain/subdomain. Customer and/or Partner relationships: Drives interactions with customer on technical topics related to his/her application domain. Understands customer specifications and needs related to his/her application domain/subdomain and translate/explain them to other project members; challenges those requirements versus SE available solutions & capabilities. Internal & External Exposure: Influences and challenges internal project teams on the technical choices related to his/her application domain/subdomain and ensure convergence of the project team towards the best solution; delivers and presents results and argumentations (technical reports, presentations, etc) - not limited to hi/her own - to the project team. May participate in technical internal working groups related to his/her application domain/subdomain and in technical communication initiatives. Project and Risk Management: Knows the fundamentals of Project Management so that he/she is aware of the Cost/Quality targets related to his/her work, with a specific emphasis on time management & scheduling; detects, analyzes, challenges, alerts in case of any deviations from the standard scope of work related to his/her application domain/subdomain; issues progress reports to the project team; may contribute to project technical risk assessment meetings. In his/her application domain, may drive parallel technical activities to ensure convergence in the global solution to be delivered. Technical knowledge and Engineering: Related to his/her application domain/subdomain, has solid knowledge and applies engineering best practices & standards, and ensures all project members apply them correctly; has strong knowledge of the product & system offers (internal & external) related to his/her application domain/subdomain; has specific technical & application skills related to his/her application domain/subdomain; carries out detailed engineering work and provide associated reporting to project team members & leaders; knows and uses the methods & tools related to his/her application domain/subdomain. Training and coaching: Exchanges and shares his/her knowledge to his peers in the projects & services environment; gathers feedback from other engineers and managers; participates in training modules development or presentations about his/her technical application domain/subdomain. Other Requirements : - Willingness to travel up to 25% Languages : - Good in English language and Other languages are a plus Qualifications Education : - Minimum- B.E. or equivalent in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Masters in Power System Study is desirable.
