S&P Global Ratings The Role: Sr. Front End Developer Grade/Level: (relevant for internal applicants only): 10 The Location: Toronto, CA Summary The Ratings Division is looking to hire a Sr. Front End Developer to lead hands on development and provide design pattern insight. S&P Global structured finance value stream technology team in the Ratings Divisions consists of geographically diversified software engineers responsible to develop scalable solutions by working directly with product development team. Impact You will enable S&P ratings business to provide best in class end-to-end analytical, commercial and customer experience by building feature rich solutions including big data engineering, analytics, business intelligence and workflow capabilities. What you can expect An unmatched experience in handling huge volumes of data, analytics, visualization, and services over cloud technologies along with appreciation in product development life cycle to convert an idea into revenue generating stream. Responsibilities: Develop web applications using Java, Spring boot, and other open source java frameworks, RESTful web services Enterprise level integrations using Kafka, REST, OKTA, etc. Front End development using React/Angular and MFE architectures Database development on PostgreSQL, Oracle, and integrations with application services Application containerization, and deployments through CI/CD pipelines, and AWS services like S3, EKS, EC2 etc. Experience writing SQL queries and good understanding of data model, Databricks knowledge is a plus. Experience in deployment using docker and containers Good knowledge about Infrastructure and exposure to CI/CD Observability, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting using Splunk, ELK, Jaeger etc. What We’re Looking For: Candidates must have a strong IT educational background to degree level or equivalent. Must have professional experience of working as part of a team on product-focused software projects, including experience of complex software design, documentation, and implementation. 6+ years’ professional experience of developing intuitive, state of the art accessible user interfaces using React, Redux and associated libraries. Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of React and Redux Strong understanding of MFE Architecture and creating SPA application in React. Demonstrable experience of developing component based single page applications A clean coder, experienced in applying patterns and structuring applications to maintain readability and maintainability. Strong proficiency in developing apps using modern JavaScript, TypeScript, Web Components, HTML5 and CSS. Strong test automation development skills ensuring applications are built and delivered with quality unit and integration tests. Experience of securely integrating with REST API’s and GraphQL. Demonstrable experience of producing accessible applications meeting the highest accessibility standards Experience of React toolchains such as Create React App Experience of configuring application build scripts for development and production using node, npm, webpack/rollup Experience of CI/CD pipelines Strong problem-solving skills. Experience of working in an Agile Development environment and maintaining high standards through code reviews. Able to work with product and UX teams to translate UI designs into working solutions Software design fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and performance analysis.
